Having been a Verizon customer for about 10 years, and not wanting to switch to the iPhone because I don’t like dropped calls, a phone with Google Android on the Verison network is very exciting. I’ve bought Verizon phones because it’s what works with their network. When the iPhone came out, I was a little sad that it wasn’t available on Verizon. All that has changed with the new phone being released from Verizon. I’m looking forward to October 30th this year (assuming decoding of the count-down was correct from this page).
To read more about this, and get up to date information, try the google news search for “Verizon Droid“. But before you do, check this out. It seems to be competing with the iPhone maybe?
This is the promo video posted on YouTube:
Chris,
What phone are you using now? I’m using the HTC Ozone and I love it.
I’m *so* excited about this phone!
Right now I have the LG Dare. It’s not bad, just not fun to use. I haven’t seen the HTC Ozone out here at Verizon when I was looking for phones.
I’m holding out to upgrade to the HTC Hero. It runs Android coming out on Verizon and looks amazing.

When does the HTC Hero come out?
so now I’m confused, the HTC Hero and the Motorola Droid both look good.
If I recall correctly, the Hero has been out for quite a while now on other networks.
Spec wise, the Droid is definitely the better phone: http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/22/motorola-droids-website-published-a-bit-early-with-specs-galor/
