Best Time to Email?
I was looking at statistics for websites tonight, and found something that was rather surprising to me. It appears that, out of the sites that I maintain, the most popular time of the day on these sites appears to be between 11AM and 1PM. I was intrigued, my mind wandered, and , I wonder what time of the day would be the most effective time to send an email.Study, Study, Study
Like all communication, when you are sending a mass email, or even an email to someone you are working with – remember that communication is about the recipient. The best time to know when to email the people you want to email? You have to know your audience. By knowing your audience, you will be able to make an educated decision. Studying their behavior will tell you more then any article you read. You have to do your homework.
Consistency is Important
When you are posting any content to a website, or sending an email – be consistent. For my blog, almost all of the time, I write posts in advance and schedule them to be published at 9:00AM daily. As a result, I’ve found that I have the most visitors, on average, at 10:00AM. For the Sermon of the Week at Bethel Church, we publish the Sermon of the Week every week on Monday. Because of the consistency of the Sermon of the Week being posted, our website has more visitors Monday than any other day.
You Train Your Audience
When you have an audience who is interested in what you are delivering, you train your audience or customers to expect things. If you send an email every week, like clockwork, people will expect that email. As long as you provide a good experience week in and week out, there is a greater chance that people will open the email, and click on the links that you send.
I found these articles interesting as I was writing this post:

Again, shocking. It helps to know your target audience.
