Cesar Milan or Victoria Stillwell
I have a puppy, who is approximately 100 lbs and just over a year old. He's inspired us to learn what to do with such a giant animal.
I'm a loyal person, and we first watched Victoria Stillwell's show "It's me or the dog". It's a great show, and she showed how dogs can behave differently through positive reinforcement. She stresses exercise, treats, and trains in a way that anyone could do.
Melissa read Cesar Milan's book, Cesar's Way and have been watching The Dog Whisperer as well. He mainly stresses the fact that we need to be pack leaders. He has a different approach than Victoria in that he sometimes will put a dog on his back to show who the leader is. He helps people to be able to put off an energy so their dogs know who the pack leader is. Cesar does focus on exercise as well.
I've come to the conclusion that both Cesar and Victoria offer good advice. What Victoria does will work for Melissa, while what Cesar does will work for me. I have no problem putting Koda on his back so he knows who is boss, while she wouldn't do that. The ways mesh very well and Koda is happier for it.
To choose one, I have to go with Cesar. The way he starts the show with the dogs all around him, you can't compete with. And, his rollerblades and the way that he runs multiple dogs. I love that part of the show.
