It's only Disappointing Because you Want It

We've been watching American Idol this season - every year people go onto the show, think they are an amazing singer, then they sing. If I was go to onto American Idol and get laughed at, I'd be fine. I know that I'm not a singer. I have no aspiration to be an amazing star.Every day I see people who are disappointed for one reason or another. So far, I have yet to see an instance where disappointment didn't directly come from someone having a hope that wasn't fulfilled.

If you are constantly being disappointed, change your expectation. You must be able to look at what you expect, match that up to actual life and be able to tell if you are constantly disappointed. If you are, you are able to confront the people who are letting you down or no longer expect the thing that isn't happening.

Aim Lower. Shoot for the stars and you'll reach the moon, right? If you are constantly shooting for the stars and expecting to always hit; you are in for a big surprise. If you change what you are hoping for to be realistic your emotional state may change.

Practically don't try to buy things that are out of your price range. Don't buy a house you can't afford. Don't get a car payment you can't afford.

Understand what a dream is. A dream is a dream. You should never stop dreaming for the impossible. What you can change is what you expect to happen now.
