Starting May of this year, I'm been phasing out taking my laptop to meetings.  When I am at a meeting with no laptop, I'm able to pay full attention without having any distraction.  Even though I may be able to use the laptop when I'm in a meeting, it will rarely add to the effectiveness of the meeting, and what I take away from the meeting. How do I come to meetings then?  With a pad of paper and a pen.  What happens when I need write an email in the meeting?  I don't.  I pay full attention in the meeting, and take notes.  Then, I go to my computer and type of the notes, if necessary.  Usually, the notes aren't very much at all. Oh yes, I am talking about the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen!  How does this pen help, and what does it do?   With this pen I'm able to go to a meeting, take notes on my notebook with just my pen.  When I'm done, I put the pen in the cradle on my desk, and it puts everything I wrote onto the computer.  It even records the audio if I have enabled that, so not only did I take notes, I am able to play the meeting back as I read the notes. I can't do this pen justice, but watch the videos on the Livescribe website.  After watching those videos and buying the pen, it is not hype.  It has done everything as advertised so far.
