Vacation Recovery

You've gone on vacation before...  It's a two week vacation, and you're trying to work everything possible into that time.  You're leaving Friday after work, then getting into town Sunday at 8PM after your vacation in order to get to work the next morning.  You're excited about this trip, it's going to be great!  Friday at 5PM gets there, and you'll all ready to go.  You pack up and you're off.   Your action planned vacation has begun! Jumping ahead, it's now Sunday, the day before you get back to work.  You are about five hours away from home, and it's already 4PM.  You're starving and you just won't make it home without getting something to eat.  You stop, get some food.  That was such a tiring vacation so you sit down to eat.  It feels good to not be moving.  So good. Soon, you realize what time it is.  Time to go! We have to get back.  How will I make it to work in the morning?  What will I wear? I took all my favorite clothes for the trip.  These question haunt you as you rush back home.  If only you had planned to get home earlier.... next time.  Next time we'll plan better. 8:00 AM on Monday rolls around, and you drag into the office.  You're late, your desk has so much on it, and you have about 100 emails.  What to do?  You're tired, you talk to your co-workers about the vacation. You never do respond to your emails because you spend who knows how much energy talking to everyone about your vacation and telling stories.  This is not a good use of company time. You came back too early! When going on a vacation, give yourself an extra day when coming back.  You will need this day to unwind, get ready for your next week day.   You'll need this day, believe me.  You'll feel so much better about your trip when you have this one more day.
