When Receiving a Discount

Get in the back of line. Let the paying customers go first.  Expect less.  You're paying less, you'll get less. People love getting deals, coupons, getting things on sale. The clearance rack always has a deal, or refurbished, open box, you name it. It can make your blood rush with excitement just thinking about the deals to be had. Discounts are like medication, they have side effects. Have you seen the side effects of discounts? Quality Quality suffers when you get a deal. Ever bought refurbished? You are getting a used product. It really may be the same as a new one, but it isn't new! If it is an open box, someone may have used it and it may not work as well as it did when it was new. Warranty I love buying things that have a warranty. I know that if that product breaks in the next few years I can get a new one, or get it replaced for a fraction of the cost. Most deals don't come with a warranty. If you are getting a deal, see how the warranty is affected. Support Similar to warranty, you get support when you pay full price. Take a computer, for example. You pay full price for a computer, and as a result support is included. You just call the 800#, press 1 for English, and you get help. If you got a deal though, you may not have full support. Sorry, you didn't buy it from an authorized vendor, we can't help you. Customer Service When you have anything done for you and you get a discount, customer service will also suffer. You are paying less then everyone else, they will get more attention. Customer service will exist, but the lowest paying customer gets less. Getting a discount puts more on you than the seller. When paying full price, they have to provide a good product. Once you receive a discount, it becomes your responsibility to verify that the product works as expected.
